What's up, producer?

This is Week 50 of the year 2024.

This week’s sample pack is all about kick drums. I’ve been experimenting with layering kicks from the Elektron Syntakt and pairing them with transients pulled from unexpected sources—percussion hits, claps, noise loops, and more. The idea was to create something fresh and hard-hitting, and I think you’ll enjoy the results.

The pack includes 16 kick drum one-shots in F#, ready to drop straight into your productions. These kicks are punchy, full of character, and might even inspire you to look for sounds in unexpected places.

Why I made this:
Not every kick—or its initial transient—needs to come from a typical source like a drum machine. Sometimes the most interesting sounds come from experimenting and combining elements you wouldn’t usually think of.

Something to try:
Next time you’re building a kick or tweaking your percussion, take a moment to really listen to your surroundings or dig through old samples. You might find a clap or even a random noise that works perfectly as part of your kick’s transient.
